Description Matej Focko 2023-05-07 19:15:36 UTC
Hi, could you please branch and build this package for EL9? It is a dependency of Ceph packages that are also used in RHEL9. Thanks a lot.

If you need any help, feel free to reach out.

Comment 1 Georg Sauthoff 2023-05-09 21:59:20 UTC
I've just requested an epel9 branch: https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/53142

Let's see if it builds out of the box there.

However, I don't want to invest too much effort into RHEL9 package maintenance, so I'll let you know when I need support.

There is already an epel8 branch which is maintained by Ken Dreyer (ktdreyer) so perhaps he is also interested in maintaining/co-maintaining the epel9 branch.

Branch is now live and first build is submitted: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=100993827

Comment 3 Ken Dreyer (Red Hat) 2023-05-17 18:36:20 UTC
Thanks for reporting the test failures upstream in https://github.com/ronf/asyncssh/issues/566

I suggest we conditionally skip the test failures on RHEL 9 for now. https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-asyncssh/pull-request/5

Comment 4 Georg Sauthoff 2023-05-27 12:21:00 UTC
Pushed your change to the epel9 branch where the build now succeeded:

Comment 5 Georg Sauthoff 2023-06-04 15:36:30 UTC
Ron fixed the tests in his repository: https://github.com/ronf/asyncssh/issues/566#issuecomment-1565729994

Can someone who actually runs RHEL9 test his changes and provide him feedback?

Comment 6 Ken Dreyer (Red Hat) 2023-06-05 20:12:22 UTC
Sure, I've tested it on a RHEL 9 VM and reported back. Looks like we'll be able to ship a new version with the upstream fixes soon.
