Description Jayant Bhatia 2023-05-08 02:29:18 UTC
Description of problem:

While trying to execute a remote job using new UI by selecting large number of hosts (say '200') via 'Satellite WebUI -> Hosts -> All Hosts' page, zero hosts are listed as 'Target Hosts' on job execution page.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Satellite 6.13

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Navigate to "Satellite WebUI -> Hosts -> All Hosts" page.

2. Select the checkbox next to 'Power' to select all the hosts managed by Satellite. Ensure approximately 200 hosts/content hosts are registered with Satellite and all 200 hosts are selected at this step.

3. Click on "Select Action" and then "Schedule Remote Job".

Actual results: "Commands" are selected by default in the new menu format. There are "0 hosts" listed for "Target Hosts".

If "Use Legacy Form" is selected, all hosts are selected as "Target Hosts" and rex job can be run normally.

Expected results: Instead of "0 Hosts", all the "200 Hosts" should be listed for "Target Hosts".

Additional info: The new UI has no issues while selecting smaller number of content hosts (say '25'). Issue is only observed when large number of content hosts are selected (say '200')

I vaguely recall seeing this. From what I recall, when you select all, the search query sent over is null (or undefined or whatever js has), however if the search query is null the wizard does not accept that. One way would be sending empty string as a search query, the other would be to make the wizard deal with nulls.
