There should be a "documentation module" included in any "internal ceph documents" for all supported release of OSP (e.g. 16.2, 17.0, 17.1) which covers configuring and validating jumbo frames.

This topic is already documented prescriptively in an OSP10 reference architecture in section 5.2.2 [1].

The proposed documentation could be as simple as:

If you set the MTU for the storage network to 9000, then use a command like the following from to confirm that packets of that size are able to reach their target.

ping -M do -s 8972 <STORAGE_SERVER_IP>

If the above command fails, then you may need to configure your switch.
