Description Walter Neumann 2006-12-20 20:55:54 UTC
Description of problem:
The microtype package included in tetex is version 1.6a from 02/02/05
which has known bugs. Current release is 1.9f of 2006/09/09

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
tetex-3.0-29.fc5

How reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run latex or pdflatex on a file that calls microtype
2.
3.

Actual results: Compilation usually aborts with message "Missing endcsname
inserted" and needs restarting.

Expected results: Compilation should proceed with no error. More recent
microtype packages fix this.

Additional info: Current CTAN version of microtype is 1.9f of 2006/09/09 and it
fixes this problem (earlier versions also did)

Fedora apologizes that these issues have not been resolved yet. We're
sorry it's taken so long for your bug to be properly triaged and acted

refocus our efforts as a project we are flagging all of the open bugs
for releases which are no longer maintained and closing them.

the change.

Thanks for your help, and we apologize again that we haven't handled
these issues to this point.

The newer microtype should occur in F9 together with the TeXLive distribution
(tetex is obsoleted).

Considering FC5 is now EOL, closing WONTFIX.
