Description Enrico Scholz 2006-12-21 17:22:57 UTC
Description of problem:

The db4 package contains both a plain C and a C++ library. Because the C library
can be used standalone and the C++ library adds additional dependencies, the C++
part should be shipped in an own subpackage.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

db4-4.3.29-9.fc6.i386

Ok, I moved the C++ stuff to separate subpackages in Fedora devel CVS.

Thanks for noticing.

Comment 2 Robert Scheck 2007-08-19 21:14:47 UTC
No, I don't think it is clever to cause a package bloat rather a dependency
bloat. Please revert this change immediately - see devel mailing lists, too.

Could you point me to the relevant posts directly so that I can see what's wrong
with it from your POV? Moving C++ stuff to a subpackage makes perfectly sense
for me so I'm not currently willing to revert it.

db4 was split to C/C++ packages since F8.
