The fonts in some parts of the GUI are not displayed correctly. For example, the doubling cube and the position numbers at the bottom of the board.

After investigating the problem, I realized that the symlinks in /usr/share/gnubg/fonts are broken. I was able to solve the problem when manually changed them to the  correct paths:

Vera.ttf -> ../../fonts/dejavu-sans-fonts/DejaVuSans.ttf
VeraBd.ttf -> ../../fonts/dejavu-sans-fonts/DejaVuSans-Bold.ttf
VeraSeBd.ttf -> ../../fonts/dejavu-serif-fonts/DejaVuSerif-Bold.ttf
