Description of problem:  A recent kernel-ark change switched the symvers compression from gzip to xz, however, all the associated tooling that uses symvers file only looks for symvers.gz.

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 39 development cycle.
Changing version to 39.
