More information about the service that created this bug can be found at: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/Upstream_Release_Monitoring

Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made. Specifically, please remember that it is your responsibility to review the new version to ensure that the licensing is still correct and that no non-free or legally problematic items have been added upstream.

We are working with upstream to figure out the impact of this.

https://github.com/cython/cython/issues/5305

Comment 2 Ben Beasley 2023-06-18 15:19:41 UTC
The grpc FTBFS in the f39-python side tag is due to the following error:

src/python/grpcio/grpc/_cython/cygrpc.cpp: In function ‘PyObject* __Pyx__Coroutine_GetAwaitableIter(PyObject*)’:
src/python/grpcio/grpc/_cython/cygrpc.cpp:130204:49: error: cannot convert ‘PyObject*’ {aka ‘_object*’} to ‘PyGenObject*’
130204 |     if (PyGen_CheckExact(obj) && (PyGen_GetCode(obj)->co_flags & CO_ITERABLE_COROUTINE)) {

which comes from Cython code, and should be fixed in

https://github.com/cython/cython/commit/d0bbecb7fba10f8a992972ea824b55a851646938

which was released in Cython 0.29.35.

It seems like Cython should be upgraded from 0.29.34 to 0.29.35 while the Python 3.12 rebuilds are in progress.

Comment 3 Miro Hrončok 2023-06-18 18:57:16 UTC
Updated to 0.29.35 in the side tag.
