Description John 2023-05-28 15:59:18 UTC
Select "Settings>Keyboard>View and Customize Shortcuts>Custom Shortcuts

Cannot add or edit existing shortcuts
Example"
Name= Terminal
Command=  gnome-terminal
Set Shortcut   SuperKey + T

Does not complete, if editing an existing shortcut it sets to Disabled

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select Settings>Keyboard>View and Customize Shortcuts>Custom Shortcuts
2.Select "+" to add shortcut
3.enter name="Terminal", Command= "gnome-terminal", Set Shortcut= "SuperKey+T"

Screen hangs with only "cancel" as option button
Actual Results:
No action occurs
Multiple tries eventually hangs Customize window and entire settings menu

Expected Results:
Previous behavior created a shortcut key for defined command

Using a Logitech G610 Ketboard
Setting keyboard shortcuts functioned correctly in F37.

On further testing I found setting the Shortcut as "Alt + T" or "Ctl + T" works correctly.
I still think "SuperKey" should be supported to avoid potential conflicts with other uses of "Ctl" and "Alt".

Comment 2 John 2023-06-22 12:54:26 UTC
Just to be clear, the "Super" key is not functioning.
None of the "default" definitions using the "Super" key are working either.

Cancel this bug.
User error. Keyboard has a "game mode" button which disables the "Super" key.
Game mode had been selected at some point and that caused the problem.
