Description Petr Menšík 2023-05-29 09:33:06 UTC
Network can announce prefixes used for DNS64 address synthesis, which can make available also IPv4-only services on the internet to hosts in ipv6-only network. If the gateway or another service of the internet service provide can translate, it could be useful to local DNS services. unbound or systemd-resolved could use dns64 to accept such synthetized addresses, while refusing other modifications of DNS by DNSSEC validation.

Reproducible: Always

The network can send this information only by router advertisements. While technically other services could listen for RA messages themselves, it seems more useful if the NM could display such information and provide it to other services too. Ideally per interface/connection.
