Description
Fedora Fails To Install
2023-07-05 19:07:33 UTC
I can remove the uvloop dependency until uvloop is fixed, but ZEO fails tests all on its own. Upstream has fixed the problem on the main branch. I am now waiting for a new release, or at least for the fix to be ported to the 5.x branch. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 39 development cycle. Changing version to 39. (In reply to Jerry James from comment #2) > Upstream has fixed the problem on the main branch. I am now waiting for a > new release, or at least for the fix to be ported to the 5.x branch. Fedora 39 Beta was just released. Is it probable that this will be released in time for the Fedora 39 Final Freeze (2023-10-03)? If not, could you please consider backporting the fix? There has been no upstream activity since python 3.12 support was added to the main branch. I made an attempt at backporting, but there are just too many changes between the 5.1 branch and the main branch. I keep breaking stuff in new and interesting ways. So I will build the main branch for F39 and Rawhide, without uvloop support. I presume the main branch is slated to be version 5.2 in the future. If not-quite-5.2 is incompatible with something else, well, that's no worse than the package not being installable at all. Errr, that should be 5.4 and not-quite-5.5. FEDORA-2023-24d588cf46 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 39. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2023-24d588cf46 FEDORA-2023-24d588cf46 has been pushed to the Fedora 39 testing repository. Soon you'll be able to install the update with the following command: `sudo dnf upgrade --enablerepo=updates-testing --refresh --advisory=FEDORA-2023-24d588cf46` You can provide feedback for this update here: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2023-24d588cf46 See also https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Updates_Testing for more information on how to test updates. Hello, Please note that this comment was generated automatically by https://pagure.io/releng/blob/main/f/scripts/ftbfs-fti/follow-policy.py If you feel that this output has mistakes, please open an issue at https://pagure.io/releng/ All subpackages of a package against which this bug was filled are now installable or removed from Fedora 40. Thanks for taking care of it! FEDORA-2023-24d588cf46 has been pushed to the Fedora 39 stable repository. If problem still persists, please make note of it in this bug report. |
