When "authselect select minimal (or ssd)" is executed and, gnome-shell goes to over 20 GB virtual memory and 100% CPU usage.  This is under Wayland.

The solution, I know about, is to log in from an other machine and kill the gnome-shell process.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Gnome under Wayland
2. Execute "authselect select minimal" or "authselect select sssd" from a terminal or from an ssh session into the machine.

Actual Results:  
Gnome freezes and the gnome-shell process goes to over 20 GM virtual memory and 100% CPU usage (according to top).

Expected Results:  
None other than the output from authselect

The machine is Dell XPS 13 9305 with 16 GB memory.
Fedora 38 workstation was installed one week ago along with lots of other packages (almost all from fedora).

This component is maintained by the GNOME project. Issues with it should be reported directly to GNOME at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/.

This issue should only be kept open if it:

1. Relates to Fedora packaging or integration with other Fedora components
2. Is required for Fedora release processes, such as blocker bugs and freeze exceptions

If this issue isn't needed for either of these two reasons, please:

 * create an issue with GNOME
 * add a link to the GNOME issue here
 * close this issue as CLOSED/UPSTREAM
