Description Blake Henderson 2023-07-07 17:44:08 UTC
Description of problem:
- Customer requested xorg-x11-server-Xvf be added to UBI repo's as it is a monolith dependency.

Comment 2 Josh Boyer 2023-07-08 14:36:07 UTC
There is no xorg-x11-server-Xvf package. I'm going to assume this was supposed to be xorg-x11-server-Xvfb.

Thank you for reaching out with this request. We appreciate your interest in
Red Hat Universal Base Image. Today, UBI is really targeted towards cloud
native, application developers working with the following languages:

Golang
Java
.Net
Node.js
Perl
Python
Ruby
PHP

Currently, this request does not fall within the currently approved use cases
for inclusion in UBI [1]. The scope of UBI will likely grow and we will keep
this use case in mind.

Instead we would recommend using a RHEL subscription to get access to these
packages, per the UBI FAQ [2]. In particular, take a look at activation keys if
this is on a system which cannot easily access subscriptions.
