Description Steven Haigh 2023-07-09 11:49:27 UTC
In the latest round of kernel updates - since approx 6.3.8 onwards, I have been getting random crashes that completely hang the system.

The output of the crash message to the screen is corrupted, so the information available is incomplete. Since these updates, I have been unable to keep my system running for longer than 24-48 hours.

Prior kernels would run for weeks on end without a panic.

Photo attached of the crash message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Run the system and wait.

Comment 5 Steven Haigh 2023-08-10 03:57:20 UTC
Tested kernels 6.4.[789] and all continue to crash.

Have currently implemented a hardware watchdog to reset the router PC when the kernel panics - so at least it doesn't stay crashed until a manual reset.

Longest uptime so far with kernel 6.4.9 has been 7 hours before a hang / WDT reset.

Comment 6 Steven Haigh 2023-08-13 03:00:53 UTC
This is fixed with kernel 6.4.10 as per:
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2023-ee241dcf80

I can't seem to change the metadata of this bug to reflect it to be fixed, but closing as CURRENTRELEASE
