Description Artem S. Tashkinov 2023-07-17 08:04:11 UTC
I'm confused.

My laptop's Radeon 780M iGPU freezes with 6.3.12 - a kernel panic due to the amggpu driver.

There's no 6.3.13 kernel available for Fedora 38. It probably contains a fix, I don't know, there are five amdgpu fixes in the changelog.

I cannot try earlier 6.3.x kernels because Fedora keeps the _only_ kernel release. The issue that I've been talking a LOT about and no one cared.

There's no 6.4.3 kernel either. I don't want to install the kernel from Rawhide because it's choke full of debugging and it's an -rc1 release which is not what I'm ready to run and risk my data in the process.

Vanilla's Fedora 38 kernel doesn't support the iGPU.

I'm not willing to compile my own kernel just yet.

What should I do?

Bodhi has 6.4.3 but unsigned. Never mind.
