Description Fedora Release Engineering 2023-07-25 17:21:29 UTC
community-mysql failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f39

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=103564413

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_39_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix community-mysql at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
community-mysql will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 40,
community-mysql will be retired, if it still fails to build.

Comment 4 Michal Schorm 2023-07-27 08:47:04 UTC
The whole issue is one failing test:
    main.derived_condition_pushdown

Via Koschei, I've verified that the fail is highly persistent.
It also likely originates from some change in buildroot, which is unfortunately untraceable quickly, as too old build logs are not preserved.

I'd like to know what caused this test to fail, however it's likely that I won' have the capacity for that.

A trivial workaround is to add this test to the 'rh-skipped-tests-list-base.list' file:
    https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/community-mysql/blob/rawhide/f/rh-skipped-tests-list-base.list

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 39 development cycle.
Changing version to 39.
