Description of problem:

2. Configure the BMC Interface for the physical host

3. Checking the power status via the BMC Interface raises the below exception

Actual results:

Failure: ERF12-2269 [ProxyAPI::ProxyException]: Unable to perform lan BMC operation ([RestClient::BadRequest]: 400 Bad Request) for Capsule https://stellite.example.com:9090/bmc

Expected results:

It should show the power status without raising any exceptions.


Additional info:


The same settings are working in satellite 6.11. Moreover, the customer can trigger a reboot via the  BMC Interface however checking the power status fails with an error.

Based on the logs this look like an issue with freeipmi, could you please try to use impitool as a provider instead? Install the ipmitool, modify the provider in /etc/foreman-proxy/settings.d/bmc.yml and restart the Capsule, then retry.
