Description Marc-Andre Lureau 2023-08-14 08:36:57 UTC
Not sure if this was intentional, but the `dnf` link or alias is gone when updating f39. This breaks a number of scripts/CI etc.

Reproducible: Always

Hi Marc-Andre, unfortunately, this situation is expected and was discussed beforehand with FESCo. To fix the things for your system and have the "dnf" command back again, try one of the suggestions from the following devel list message: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/F5VKNXZUIUBTZ5KI3OQ2MJ2TXCONQTVA/.

Since I presume most of the CLI are still compatible, why dnf5 doesn't install the link? or use update-alternatives if it several versions can be installed in parallel.
