Description Mike FABIAN 2023-09-06 06:36:56 UTC
[mfabian@fedora ~]$ rpm -qf /usr/bin/imsettings-switch
imsettings-1.8.4-1.fc39.x86_64
[mfabian@fedora ~]$

I am trying to enable ibus in XFCE using

imsettings-switch ibus

but it doesn’t seem to work.

It just prints this:

[mfabian@fedora ~]$ imsettings-switch ibus
No actions required.
[mfabian@fedora ~]$ ps aux | grep ibus
mfabian 4402 0.0 0.0 222816 2432 pts/1 S+ 15:28 0:00 grep --color=auto ibus
[mfabian@fedora ~]$

and ibus is not running.

The logfile contains:

[mfabian@fedora ~]$ cat .cache/imsettings/log

[ 29.199541]: IMSettings-Daemon[1829]: WARNING **: Child process exited with code 1

Reproducible: Always

Comment 2 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2023-09-06 07:23:47 UTC
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 39-beta by Fedora user tagoh using the blocker tracking app because:

Input Method can't be configured properly on desktops except GNOME and KDE. this prevents user experience for Input.
