Description Brian J. Murrell 2023-09-11 14:29:17 UTC
I can confirm that this extension leaks memory as filed upstream at
https://gitlab.com/skrewball/openweather/-/issues/80.

Moreover however, the [project's source](https://gitlab.com/skrewball/openweather) is now Archived, indicating that it's now abandonware, sadly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add extension
2. Add some locations
3. Wait
Actual Results:
Memory consumption of GNOME Shell steadily increases

Expected Results:
Memory consumption of GNOME Shell should be stable.

FYI the project now has a new maintainer.

Comment 2 Brian J. Murrell 2023-12-22 14:07:33 UTC
New maintainer with their own fork or is this new maintainer continuing with https://gitlab.com/skrewball/openweather?

If the former, can you paste the new maintainer's fork's URL here?

Comment 3 Russell Odom 2023-12-23 07:13:25 UTC
The new maintainer is apparently continuing at the same repo. However there aren't any changes there yet - the code at https://github.com/toppk/gnome-shell-extension-openweather is currently Moore up-to-date.
