Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made. Specifically, please remember that it is your responsibility to review the new version to ensure that the licensing is still correct and that no non-free or legally problematic items have been added upstream.

Comment 1 Lumír Balhar 2023-10-04 20:27:14 UTC
No matching package to install: 'python3dist(requests) >= 2.31'

Comment 2 Ben Beasley 2023-10-10 13:33:13 UTC
We now have python-openapi-core-0.18.1 in Rawhide, so if you like (and once you are unblocked by requests and can update to 2.25.0) you can stop patching out the openapi test dependencies and start packaging the python3-jupyterlab-server+openapi extra metapackage.

Given the current relative paces of development between the two packages, somewhat frequent adjustment of the version bounds might be required: for example, the test extra already has openapi-spec-validator>=0.6.0,<0.7.0, but we’ll soon have 0.7.0 via https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-openapi-spec-validator/pull-request/7, and it should be compatible in practice.

If you do decide to depend on python-openapi-core, and if there’s anything I can do to help, just let me know.
