No time to implement this in Satellite 500. Need to move to a future release. Verified in stage -> RELEASE_PENDING. Both SDC->Software-Packages->Install and SSM->Install->(channel) can install i386 package on x86_64 client. An advisory has been issued which should help the problem described in this bug report.
