Would you consider updating openvpn to 2.6 in EPEL9?  Per the changelog there do not appear to be any breaking changes and it would be a much better branch to be "stuck" on for the life of EL9 given the OpenSSL 3 and DCO support.

I'm happy to help maintain the EPEL side of things if help is needed.  FAS jonathanspw

Thank you for your interest.  Moving to OpenVPN 2.6 for EPEL-9 has been considered but decided not to go that path, simply because there are some chances some configurations may break.  I did such a move when going from 2.3 to 2.4 and got flogged for doing a major update for CentOS users.  There is always going to be enough users where 2.6 will break, like configurations using ciphers not supported in OpenSSL 3 and requires additional configuration.
