anaconda formats the filesystems even when using it to install a live cd image.
Since the image is just dd'ed onto the disk, that shouldn't be necessary, I think.

We might want to do any metadata clobbering, though, just to avoid tools getting
confused later

There's not really a good way to handle this cleanly at present.  We're planning
to overhaul partitioning a bit for Fedora 8, so I think the best thing to do is
to punt this for Fedora 7.  The only real impact is that the install takes
longer due to the need to format.

Based on the date this bug was created, it appears to have been reported
against rawhide during the development of a Fedora release that is no
longer maintained. In order to refocus our efforts as a project we are
