Description Ashish Humbe 2023-11-17 13:41:58 UTC
Document URL: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_satellite/6.14/html-single/release_notes/index#deprecated-functionality

Section Number and Name: Chapter 5. Deprecated Functionality

Describe the issue: We need to add the deprecation of katello-ca-consumer package and katello-rhsm-consumer script

Suggestions for improvement:

Katello-ca-consumer package & /var/www/html/pub/katello-rhsm-consumer script
The katello-ca-consumer package and the katello-rhsm-consumer script are deprecated and will be removed in a future release. Use the global registration template for registering a host to Red Hat Satellite.

If we are doing this. We should also mention that It is still expected to see the usage of katello-ca-consumer rpm while deploying systems using satellite until the BZ https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2153548 is resolved.

It will help avoid some conflicts\confusions.
