Description Jonathan Wright 2023-12-17 17:06:56 UTC
Please branch and build matrix-synapse in epel9.

If you do not wish to maintain matrix-synapse in epel9,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package;
please add the epel-packagers-sig group through
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/matrix-synapse/addgroup
and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: jonathanspw).

I can be the primary contact for EPEL (FAS: jonathanspw).

There are currently missing rust deps to build it but I am working on those.

Reproducible: Always

Hi Jonathan, I requested the epel9 branch and gave you and the EPEL Packagers SIG collaborator access to epel*.

Please be aware that some effort is required for proper maintenance. I don’t think I can support an EPEL branch of matrix-synapse as it is a fast moving project and new CVEs are relatively common. Even for F37 I found it not trivial to support, because of new dependencies and backporting of security fixes.
