Description of problem:

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
6.15.0

How reproducible:

Steps:

1. Disable the setting display_fqdn_for_hosts in Satellite
2. Navigate to Hosts -> Content Hosts -> Select Host -> Move to Content and then Packages sub tab -> Install packages
3. Verify short-names are used and domain isn't appended

Actual results:

FQDN is displayed.

Expected results:

FQDN or shortname will be displayed according to the setting.

Comment 4 amolpati 2024-04-02 17:21:53 UTC
Verified.

Tested on: tested with packit rpm for el8

Steps followed:

1) Disable the setting in General -> Display FQDN for hosts (display_fqdn_for_hosts) in Satellite
2) Navigate to Hosts -> Content Hosts -> Select Host -> Move to Content and then Packages sub tab -> Install packages
3) Verify short-names are used and domain isn't appended

Additional info:

after disabled "display_fqdn_for_hosts", as per the above steps it is displaying short-name w/o domain name
Exp. - "phil-tyrrell"

Observation:
It is working as expected.
