Description Didic 2024-03-22 10:05:34 UTC
I usually use the shortcut ctrl+enter to add the .com to Internet addresses.
I use Fedora Workstation 39 and Firefox 124.
Since 20/03/2024 this shortcut no longer works on Firefox.
It still works with Vivaldi.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Firefox (ver. 124)
2.Type google
3.do ctrl+enter
Actual Results:
firefox open your search engine with google as search

Expected Results:
firefox add .com to your input and open the website.

Upstream bug https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1880619 ?
I'm unable to reproduce. Which desktop do you use? Do you use any special input method?

Comment 2 Didic 2024-03-22 10:47:48 UTC
I use Gnome with x11
No special input method

The upstream bug you mention is the same.

Comment 3 Martin Stransky 2024-03-22 11:02:32 UTC
Do you use Gnome/X.org or Wayland/XWayland?

Comment 4 Martin Stransky 2024-03-22 11:34:15 UTC
Tested both Gnome/X.org and Wayland/XWayland and still no luck.

Comment 5 Didic 2024-03-22 11:56:09 UTC
I use Gnome/x.org (nvidia gpu and wayland dont be friend on my machine)
I use Firefox fedora rpm (version 124) and i have the issue
If i use Firefox flatpak (version 123) i dont have any issue

Comment 6 Christian Stadelmann 2024-03-23 16:51:32 UTC
I cannot reproduce the issue described here either.
Can you reproduce it with a fresh profile?

I made a new user on my Fedora and i dont have the issue anymore.
Ctrl+enter works on Firefox 124

I need to find what is the problem with mine.
