Patch converting int -> sector_t in scsi_dump.c
Patch changing the type used to store sector numbers to sector_t and switching
to READ_16 for (block > 0xffffffff).
The types of start_sect and nr_sects fields of disk_dump_partition is unsigned int. They also should be changed to sector_t if over 2TB memory support is requested. Created attachment 148883 [details]
linux-2.6.9-scsidump-read16.patch
I updated the patch. The type of the start_sect and nr_sects fields of the
disk_dump_partition structure were changed from unsigned long to sector_t.

Description of problem: The disk dump code in drivers/scsi/scsi_dump.c incorrectly represents sectors using an int type. On machines with a 32 bit int, this wraps for systems with >1Tb of memory leading to errors like this: check dump partition... <3>scsi_dump: block number -2147483520 is larger than 4294965181 <3>scsi_dump: init_rw_command failed <3>disk_dump: read error on block 67108864 <3>disk_dump: check partition failed. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. Configure disk dump on a system with a 32 bit int (reported on IPF) and >1Tb of RAM 2. Trigger a diskdump Actual results: <3>scsi_dump: block number -2147483520 is larger than 4294965181 <3>scsi_dump: init_rw_command failed <3>disk_dump: read error on block 67108864 <3>disk_dump: check partition failed. Expected results: Disk dump completes successfully. Additional info:
