Description david08741 2024-04-22 13:59:11 UTC
Description of problem:
superlu_dist-mpich depends on superlu_dist-mpich-devel

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
superlu_dist-mpich-devel-1:8.2.0-3.fc40.x86_64.rpm

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dnf5 install superlu_dist-mpich

Actual results:
superlu_dist-mpich-devel is pulled in. This seems to be caused by a dependency on libblas.so()(64bit)(mpich-x86_64)

Expected results:
superlu_dist-mpich-devel and gcc etc is not installed

Additional info:
superlu_dist-mpich:
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/rpminfo?rpmID=37667341
superlu_dist-mpich-devel
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/rpminfo?rpmID=37667345

/usr/lib64/mpich/lib/libblas.so is part of superlu_dist-mpich-devel but is not a symlink
libblas should not be part of superlu_dist as far as I can tell.

I have a fix here:

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 42 development cycle.
Changing version to 42.

I didn't realize this was outstanding. The suggested fix doesn't work for me, but I think i can see what's wrong.
