This is a tracking bug for Change: Drop Mandatory Requires on JRE

Drop the requirement of Java libraries to have Requires on JREs.

Hi @mkonek can you provide a status update for this change please? It should be testable now, and code complete before next Tuesday 27th August. Please let me know if this change is still on track for F41, or if  you need to re-target to F42 development. Thank you!

Hi, this change is implemented and already took effect as of the latest mass rebuild in F41.
Results are visible for example in the Requires between and older https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/rpminfo?rpmID=37936194 and a newer https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/rpminfo?rpmID=39372028 build of a random Java library package.

Aoife is asking this question because bug status is still ASSIGNED, which tells that the change is not yet implemented.
Marian, you should update bug status as described in the process docs https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/program_management/changes_policy/#_change_process
