Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made. Specifically, please remember that it is your responsibility to review the new version to ensure that the licensing is still correct and that no non-free or legally problematic items have been added upstream.

Comment 1 Tomas Orsava 2024-07-03 12:22:18 UTC
Waiting for final version.

Comment 2 Dmitry Tantsur 2024-07-09 12:18:38 UTC
Note: this is blocking netmiko since it depends on cffi 1.17 because of Python 3.13 compatibility.

Comment 3 Miro Hrončok 2024-07-09 12:22:20 UTC
Python 3.13 compatibility has been added as a patch in https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-cffi/c/97f5910f3a7e91350a55d9c1f906d712dd9c205a?branch=rawhide -- is there anything else you need?

Comment 4 Dmitry Tantsur 2024-07-09 12:25:24 UTC
I simply don't know, https://github.com/ktbyers/netmiko/pull/3444/commits/637c2a76607f53581ce9741991bb442da826867e is not rich on details. I can give it a try (should be in 1.16.0-5, right?) and hope for better.

Comment 5 Miro Hrončok 2024-07-09 12:29:34 UTC
You don't need the changes from https://github.com/ktbyers/netmiko/pull/3444/commits/637c2a76607f53581ce9741991bb442da826867e

But anyway, if your upstream already pins to >= 1.17.0rc1 it might be easier to update the package.
