Doc Text:
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's netfilter connection tracking (ctnetlink) component. A missing helper function call in the expectation deletion path allows a local attacker to leak the least significant byte (LSB) of an expectation object's memory address to userspace. This information disclosure could potentially aid in bypassing Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) and facilitate further attacks.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2024-08-30 08:20:31 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

netfilter: ctnetlink: use helper function to calculate expect ID

Delete expectation path is missing a call to the nf_expect_get_id()
helper function to calculate the expectation ID, otherwise LSB of the
expectation object address is leaked to userspace.
