Essentially Mozilla stopped working on Fira Sans but it was kept being worked on by bBox Type GmbH.

This might also make a opportunity to migrate to the Fira Mono version by bBox Type GmbH and also package FiraGo which isn't packaged yet.

Migrating to the bBox Type versions might requiring renaming of the package to drop the "mozilla" prefix, as Mozilla is not involved anymore.

This is essentially a request to move the Fira Sans e Fira Mono fonts from the Mozilla upstream to the bBox Type upstream.
As an extra it's also a request to separately start packaging FiraGO, an extended version of Fira Sans with improved language support.

Since the other bug is about the Fira Sans update, this one will be repurposed to only handle the FiraGo packaging.

This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 40 is nearing its end of life.

Hey, so this is still planned. However I plan on getting FiraGO on the repos first.

There are a few reasons:

1) I have to learn how to package a font, and apparently there are two ways (the old fashioned way and using font macros), os it might be easier to learn packaging something from scratch
2) In any case I plan to remove the "mozilla-" prefix, and I might need to add the prefix to the actual foundry ("bbox-"), since that will require a rename I will need to go through review anyway

I can try to start the review for rename in parallel though, that might speed things up, but I still have to get the knowledge to handle and adapt the current spec (which apparently doesn't use font macros).
