Description Kaleb KEITHLEY 2024-08-30 20:54:22 UTC
Please branch and build grpc in epel10.

If you do not wish to maintain grpc in epel10,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package;
please add the epel-packagers-sig group through
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/grpc/addgroup
and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: kkeithle);
please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/grpc/adduser

This came up in the EPEL matrix channel (#epel:fedoraproject.org) today. One of the build requirements that is blocking it was python-coverage (bug 2308768). I've worked up a patch that drops the coverage build requirement, which is applicable to both Fedora and EPEL. I've submitted it to the rawhide branch, which is where I suspect the epel10 branch will be branched from when the time comes.

bump

https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/grpc/pull-request/36 has been merged.

This is one of the last dependencies for building libarrow in EPEL10 and then Ceph for Stream 10 in CentOS Storage SIG.
