Spyder 6.0.0 final just came out, and it does support and ask for qtconsole 5.6. As long as the update is straightforward, this should be an easy fix.

Yeah. I was planning on doing that. I still wish other maintainers would be more vigilant with regards to dependent packages before pushing updates...
