Doc Text:
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Network File System Daemon (NFSD) component. This vulnerability occurs due to the `struct nfsd4_copy` not being properly initialized, specifically its reference count (`refcount`) and asynchronous copies (`async_copies`) fields. An error during the `nfsd4_copy()` operation can lead to a reference count underflow, which may result in a system crash or denial of service.

Description OSIDB Bzimport 2024-11-09 11:02:33 UTC
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

NFSD: Initialize struct nfsd4_copy earlier

Ensure the refcount and async_copies fields are initialized early.
cleanup_async_copy() will reference these fields if an error occurs
in nfsd4_copy(). If they are not correctly initialized, at the very
least, a refcount underflow occurs.
