Please keep in mind that with any upstream change, there may also be packaging changes that need to be made. Specifically, please remember that it is your responsibility to review the new version to ensure that the licensing is still correct and that no non-free or legally problematic items have been added upstream.

Comment 1 Ben Beasley 2025-01-04 14:01:09 UTC
PR’s for rust-onefetch-{ascii,image,manifest} are ready:

https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/rust-onefetch-ascii/pull-request/1
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/rust-onefetch-image/pull-request/1
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/rust-onefetch-manifest/pull-request/1

I have a local git branch tracking this release, but I need gix 0.69 and gix-features 0.39 before I can proceed.

Comment 2 Ben Beasley 2025-01-04 14:13:21 UTC
It might be possible to build this against gix 0.66 by patching dependencies and reverting the code changes in https://github.com/o2sh/onefetch/commit/287571cafb70b8657c30626b76956876217c2e80, but either way, there is one other blocker:

 Problem 9: nothing provides requested (crate(tokei/default) >= 13.0.0~alpha.7 with crate(tokei/default) < 14.0.0~)

Updating rust-tokei to an alpha release (and adding a rust-tokei12 compat package to provide a stable version of the command-line tool) is a possibility: version 12 is very old now, version 13 has been in alpha development for four years, and rust-onefetch is the only thing that depends on tokei as a library. However, doing so will require a new package, rust-table_formatter, bug 2335210.
