Description Kamil Páral (Red Hat) 2025-01-02 13:31:28 UTC
Description of problem:
I often used "dnf history userinstalled" to see which leaf packages I deliberately installed. E.g. to back them up for a future OS reinstall, or to replicate them on my different machine, etc. However, "dnf history userinstalled" is no longer available in DNF5.

The "Changes between DNF and DNF5" doesn't list it, though:
https://dnf5.readthedocs.io/en/latest/changes_from_dnf4.7.html

Please include "dnf history userinstalled" in the document above, and ideally also document a command to achieve the same goal in DNF5.

Thank you.

Comment 1 Petr Pisar 2025-01-03 15:15:19 UTC
For your information, the replacing command is already recommend in DNF4's manual:

[...] Note the same results can be accomplished
              with dnf repoquery --userinstalled,

Comment 2 Petr Pisar 2025-01-03 15:22:08 UTC
I agree we should document in dnf5-changes-from-dnf4(7) manual that "dnf repoquery --userinstalled" should be used instead.

Comment 3 Petr Pisar 2025-01-06 12:51:15 UTC
Resolved upstream.
