This is a tracking bug for Change: Automated onboarding to Packit release automation for new packages

To ease the onboarding process for package maintainers and their release workflows, we propose to automatically create pull requests with the initial Packit configuration file for newly created projects at src.fedoraproject.org. Once merged, this configuration will enable Packit to automate the release process, reducing repetitive tasks for maintainers.

Hi Laura, Nikola & Team, how goes this change for F42? The testable deadline is coming up in about two weeks, on Feb 4th, and changes need to be in good shape at this point https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/program_management/changes_policy/#_change_process_milestones for Beta.

Please let me know if you need to defer this to F43, otherwise if youre good to go for the change to be ready to meet the testable requirements, please update the status of the tracker bug to MODIFIED.

Hi Aoife,

we are currently working on the implementation, but given the review and deployment process, we likely won't be able to meet the testable deadline for F42. As you suggested, could we please officially defer this change to F43?
