KMail/Kontact, Falkon and DigiCam and possibly some other KDE apps started to crash on startup after mesa packages update to 24.3.3-2 release.

In KMail launch log theres a message:
[8922:8954:0113/161346.812512:ERROR:gl_context_egl.cc(396)] eglCreateContext failed with error EGL_BAD_ALLOC
KCrash: Application 'falkon' crashing... crashRecursionCounter = 2



Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. update mesa packages to 24.3.3-2.fc41
2. start any of affected apps
Actual Results:  
apps fails to start

Expected Results:  
apps launches with no issues

Downgrading mesa packages to 24.3.2-2.fc41 fixes the problem.

System specs:
Hardware: Dell Vostro 3650
CPU: Intel i7-3632QM
GPU: Mesa Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 (IVB GT2)

Software:

I can confirm this with kmymoney using an AMD RX 6700 XT.

I found an older forum thread with a similar problem which proposed starting with
QMLSCENE_DEVICE=softwarecontext QT_OPENGL=software kmymoney
and it indeed is a functioning workaround.
QMLSCENE_DEVICE=softwarecontext also seems to work on its own with kmymoney, but there might be programs which need both.

Are you using mesa-va-drivers-freeworld? This looks similar to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2338414

This indeed seems to be the caused by mesa-va-drivers-freeworld

I can confirm that with mesa-va-drivers-freeworld the following apps were crashing: kmail, falkon, akonadiconsole.
The problem went away when I did "dnf swap mesa-va-drivers-freeworld mesa-va-drivers".
