Please attach a dmesg taken when you ssh into the box for reboot. Please do it even if it looks entirely normal (e.g. no oops). I'm quite sure that you're right blaming the kernel, especially if last-working version is known. Created attachment 151900 [details]
dmesg for kernel 2.6.20-1.3045.fc7
As you can see from the last comment, the problem still exists in the 3045 build (so it hasn't magically gone away). FWIW, unplugging and replugging the USB doesn't help, but here are the entries from messages after I tried twice: kernel: usb 2-2: USB disconnect, address 3 kernel: usb 2-2: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 4 kernel: usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice kernel: input: ATEN ATEN Composite as /class/input/input6 kernel: input: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [ATEN ATEN Composite] on usb-0000:00:13.1-2 kernel: input: ATEN ATEN Composite as /class/input/input7 kernel: input: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [ATEN ATEN Composite] on usb-0000:00:13.1-2 kernel: usb 2-2: USB disconnect, address 4 kernel: usb 2-2: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 5 kernel: usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice kernel: input: ATEN ATEN Composite as /class/input/input8 kernel: input: USB HID v1.10 Keyboard [ATEN ATEN Composite] on usb-0000:00:13.1-2 kernel: input: ATEN ATEN Composite as /class/input/input9 kernel: input: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [ATEN ATEN Composite] on usb-0000:00:13.1-2 BZ appears not to want to let me change the status back to Assigned from Needinfo, so I'm changing Needinfo to the Asignee. I kind of tuned out after f7t4 continued to exhibit this bug. FWIW, somewhere between kernel-2.6.20-1.3104.fc7 (the f7t4 kernel, as distributed on the ISOs) and kernel-2.6.21-1.3163.fc7 (rawhide as of now), the bug has gone away. The bug is still missing in kernels 3189 and 3194. Here's hoping it continues to be missing in the general release.... Since 3194 is what's on the final media (and doesn't have the bug), I'm closing this item (hopefully never to be re-opened, eh?). |
