Description Aoife Moloney 2025-01-16 16:06:14 UTC
This is a tracking bug for Change: Create Fedora Windows Subsystem for Linux Images
For more details, see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/FedoraWSL

Recent versions of Windows support running Linux guests via Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). These can be distributed via tarballs, Appx packages, or via the Windows Store. The purpose of this change is to start producing Fedora images for users of WSL.

If you encounter a bug related to this Change, please do not comment here. Instead create a new bug and set it to block this bug.

Hi Jeremy, this is a reminder that the testable deadline is coming up in about two weeks, on Feb 4th, and changes need to be in good shape at this point https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/program_management/changes_policy/#_change_process_milestones for Beta.

Please let me know if you need to defer this to F43, otherwise if youre good to go for the change to be ready to meet the testable requirements, please update the status of the tracker bug to MODIFIED.

Thanks!
Aoife

I believe this is now in an acceptable shape to meet the testable requirements.

The change is implemented in https://pagure.io/fedora-kiwi-descriptions/pull-request/16 and the CI-produced images are functional and, I believe, ready to be merged.

The pungi changes are complete so we have images being built nightly and available under https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/42/Container/
