Description Karl Berry 1998-11-30 11:35:49 UTC
Linux top, unlike the standard top from NWU, does not work
in an emacs shell buffer. It actually wants a
cursor-addressable screen, as far as I can tell anyway. I
often wish to just check quickly what the top processes are,
once, with no refresh, while in Emacs.

The displaying of top will not work correctly within Emacs. You will
need to use ps or other alternative.
