Description Fedora Release Engineering 2025-01-22 21:04:31 UTC
ncurses failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f42

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=128019260

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_42_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix ncurses at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
ncurses will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 43,
ncurses will be retired, if it still fails to build.

Comment 4 Thomas E. Dickey 2025-01-22 22:58:18 UTC
ncurses 6.5.20240629 is going to be too old for gcc15.

It's kind of old for Fedora 42, in any case.

fwiw, I've been building current code with gcc15 for almost two months
(on one of my Mac's, where I built a copy for testing). ymmv.

Comment 5 Miroslav Lichvar 2025-01-23 14:52:23 UTC
Updated to newer ncurses snapshot, which already has support for the new gcc.
