Description Fedora Release Engineering 2025-01-22 21:11:06 UTC
openal-soft failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f42

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=128024023

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_42_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix openal-soft at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
openal-soft will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 43,
openal-soft will be retired, if it still fails to build.

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 42 development cycle.
Changing version to 42.

Comment 5 Hans de Goede 2025-05-11 13:31:17 UTC
I'm moving all my FTBFS bugs to assigned because I do plan to fix them.

Note: I don't have a lot of time to work on these bugs so I'm not sure when exactly I'll fix these and for some packages if fixing is too much work I might orphan them instead.

I always welcome co-maintainers for all my packages or pull-requests to fix a specific issues like FTBFS bugs, with a preference for people becoming co-maitainers and helping with maintenance long term.

Comment 6 Hans de Goede 2025-05-11 13:33:46 UTC
I just noticed I'm not the primary maintainer for this one, but I guess the being very busy goes for François as well.

Also we really need to fix this one and not orphan it since a ton of other packages depends on it.

Comment 7 François Cami 2025-08-22 10:30:49 UTC
This is fixed.
