Description Miro Hrončok 2025-03-04 17:42:28 UTC
Hello.

python-pygeoip BuildRequires python3-nose.

python-nose will be retired from Fedora 43. Please drop this requirement or retire python-pygeoip as well.

python3-nose was deprecated in Fedora for 5 years.

Let me know if you need assistance. Thanks.

As per point 3 of https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/#_package_removal_for_long_standing_ftbfs_and_fti_bugs I am asking the maintainer(s) to respond.

Comment 2 Kevin Fenzi 2025-03-20 01:51:36 UTC
So... this package doesn't seem to be required by anything that I can see.

It was archived in 2018 upstream.

I think we can retire it. I'll do so in a few days unless someone yells about some need for it.

Comment 3 Kevin Fenzi 2025-03-22 19:18:13 UTC
On the off chance someone has a use for this I am just going to orphan it and let it get dropped in the normal process.

Comment 4 Fedora Admin user for bugzilla script actions 2025-03-23 03:18:29 UTC
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.

Comment 5 Maxwell G 2025-05-04 04:13:43 UTC
Automation has figured out the package is retired in Fedora Rawhide.

If you like it to be unretired, please open a ticket at
