Description Radek Vykydal 2025-03-11 13:24:39 UTC
After update to adwaita-icon-theme-48~beta-1.fc43 Anaconda is missing
symbolic/emblems/emblem-ok-symbolic that is used in its Gtk GUI.

Previous rawhide release adwaita-icon-theme-47.0-1.eln143 contains it.

Is the change intentional ?
Is there a recommended replacement for the icon we could use ?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run latest rawhide network installation (for example using https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/rawhide/Everything/x86_64/iso/Fedora-Everything-netinst-x86_64-Rawhide-20250311.n.0.iso)
2.On Installation Destination screen click "Refresh" (right bottom corner), "Rescan Disks" and see the icon missing in front of the message "Disk rescan complete" (I will attach screenshots)
3.
Actual Results:
The check icon is missing in front of "Disk rescan complete" message

Expected Results:
There is a check icon (emblem-ok-symbolic) in front of "Disk rescan complete" message

This issue is also affecting our workflows for CI containers building (blocking the new build).

There was an intentional removal of the "emblem" icons in https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/adwaita-icon-theme/-/commit/a00466f12bd5419d6f22c1097a16fd670431c9d4

Alternatively, applications can bundle the icons they need (that aren't part of the icon-theme).

Bundling the icons with the application is the approach that's favored nowadays.
