as asked by Neal, filling a new ticket because we still have lines with only "KDE Plasma" at cat /etc/os-release

Comment 2 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2025-04-08 21:48:40 UTC
Proposed as a Blocker and Freeze Exception for 42-final by Fedora user geraldosimiao using the blocker tracking app because:

filling a new ticket because we still have lines with only "KDE Plasma" at cat /etc/os-release and it violates the self-identification criteria "Any component which prominently identifies a Fedora release version number, code name, milestone (Beta, Final), or Edition (Workstation, Server, CoreOS) must do so correctly. "

Comment 3 Kamil Páral 2025-04-09 07:48:25 UTC
It's not just KDE, CoreOS also doesn't have the Edition keyword. If we want to fix it, we should fix both.

Comment 4 Kamil Páral 2025-04-09 08:45:43 UTC
Adam Williamson advises that this case might not be that clear-cut for CoreOS, and that we should probably first ask them whether they want "Edition" in their canonical name. So let's ignore my request above, let's just merge the KDE change, and let's deal with CoreOS separately.
