Description Mat H 2025-04-22 17:04:59 UTC
Please branch and build Sway Windows Manager for EPEL 9 and 10.

A lightweight WM is needed for CentOS Stream 9 and 10.

Reproducible: Always

Additional Information:
I would be glad to help in any way, currently I work in the DEI, Join, Ask Fedora and community aspects of the Fedora ecosystem, username @theprogram

I am currently using Weston in CentOS Stream 9 and it does not work very well. Sway is far superior.

Comment 1 Mat H 2025-04-24 11:24:05 UTC
If Sway is not able to be packaged for EPEL 9 I would be okay with any stable Tiling Window Manager if one could be recommended.

Comment 2 Mat H 2025-07-27 20:55:12 UTC
I have built and installed Sway for CentOS Stream 10 using wlroots 0.18 and sway 1.10.1
but I get some wlroots errors. If someone more knoweldgeable than me could add it to EPEL 10 it should not be too difficult :)

Comment 3 Mat H 2025-07-28 08:42:50 UTC
Will you be able to branch and build sway in epel10 ?

(Thank you, following advice in CentOS Matrix room)
